Degree, Skills or Both
It is December 2019 and today’s trend is the discussion between whether Degree is important or not. Majority of the people agrees with the phrase “Degree is not important” even they are still running after that. Up to some extent i agree with them but then looking into the important factors and importance i disagree.
Let’s look into the different definitions of the Degree, skills and their importance in different fields and it’s impact on our life.
What is Degree? (Google)
An academic degree is a qualification awarded to students upon successful completion of a course of study in higher education, usually at a college or university
If you look into the definition, you will see these two words “successful completion”. What does it mean? Just completing the course with top grade? No… Completing and understanding it’s all facts and factors.
Your question will be “what are the fact and factors?”. Have you ever been called for presentation? How was it for the first time? Did you managed to do it very properly? What about comparing your first presentation and your 3rd,4th presentation. Did you feel any difference? From where that difference came? Did you learnt it in your Home? That’s society, your friend, your teachers that plays important rule in completing you. Without degree will you managed to do that? I don’t think so.
What are Skills (Google)
the ability to do something well; expertise.
What do you think you learnt to communicate with people. Isn’t that a Skill. The most people that are against the degree are from Computer field. Why? Because there every work is practical. They are expecting from doctors to learn everything in the home as they do. A doctor learns everything in the institute on the dead bodies first. What do you think, from where you will get the dead body and experiment on it. Are you expecting a Doctor to act like a local mechanic.
